I live in Bakersfield, Ca. but by-passed our local Harley dealer to purchase my Roadglide from the cats at Santa Maria Harley. Turns out that was an excellent move! I got a screaming deal on my 2019 Roadglide Special. My price, complete with the King Size touring pack was cheaper than the "hanger" on the stock bike locally.With 9000 miles on my new scooter and by a strange turn of events I experienced catastrophic engine failure. It' happens! The manager of the dealership (Chris) and the service desk captain (Matt) contacted Harley Corporate and a brand new M-8, freshly stamped with my current engine numbers, was heading west! Logan, (Master Harley wrench turner and Dr.) performed the open heart surgery, complete with an upgraded cam and tuner, and I rode her home yesterday.These cats are solid and if you're in the market for a new or used ride hit them up! They also sell Honda's and dirt bikes if you're in to that scene. I'm a lifer at SM Harley and I'll point anyone who will listen to their dealership. If you want a great machine at a fair price or need some service work done get in to Santa Maria Harley. You wont be sorry!

I found myself with a about 5 hours staring a flat rear tire. It was late Saturday afternoon and a local rider who stopped to offer help told Santa Maria H/D would be the best option to get the tire replaced. I was about 100 miles away called to let them know I need help. They told me if I cold bike there, they would help me get back on the road. They were true to their word. I arrived literally 5 minutes before closing time on a Saturday night. GM Chris Backs met me at the counter and said they would stay open long enough to get my rear tire replaced. Lead Service Consultant Clint Gracia got me signed in. Service Support Frank Corona assisted the tow truck diver in getting my bike off the flat bed, and Tech Josh Pankey got to turning wrenches and had me back on the road less than an hour later. These guys stayed late just to keep me rolling toward home. This is what great Customer Service is all about and this Harley dealership sets a fine example of how other dealers should be. Thank you! I've visited this location a few times since moving into town a few months ago. I owned a 2007 Vstar 1300 and had two bad experiences with the Yamaha dealership a few doors down with service and keeping to their promises. I decided to walk into the Harley Dealership as I was awaiting to demo a motorcycle at their competitor. Needless to say, Chris Backs introduced himself and offered me assistance. I asked if I could demo a couple Street Glides and without hesitation Chris had me out the door testing riding. This was a HUGE win for me as I called other dealer 3 days in advance to demo a bike they had and it still wasn't ready when I showed up at Yamaha. Chris made my entire experience at Santa Maria Harley the BEST I've ever had. He sold me a 2007 Street Glide at a fair price, had all paperwork ready when I walked in the door to pick my ride up, and even paid my other bike off. This is how a dealer WINS customers over, Service is what KEEPS a customer for life, Working as a team for the BEST customer experience gets you referrals. Keep up the great work Santa Maria Harley Davidson. Word of advise for other dealers!!

While on a road trip through California on my way to Oregon, I found myself in need of a new rear tire. I used my Dealer Locator on my S/G's GPS and made my to way to Santa Maria H/D. I was told that the service dept was completely booked well into the foreseeable future. Not sure how to continue, the service writer excused himself for a minute and when he returned he told me that the mechanic would put his current job on hold long enough to install my tire. Within an hour I was back on the road. I had been riding with the feeling that my tire could fail and now I had the feeling of security you get with new rubber. I want to thank the Employees and the Dealership in general for allowing me to continue my trip without incident. Two big thumbs up.

Had a problem with charging system called service they checked for parts had what was needed and went out of there way to fix it. call was made at 3:00 pm and at 6:15 pm have a new stator and unexpected scooter wash. JC and the gang are great people to have working in back room. everybody in whole store was fantastic.Thank you.

I have a 99 sportster 1200 that needed the rear tire replaced, I called and they got me right in and I told them that I was thinking that it might need a front tire also and they told me that the front tire was still good and didn't need to be replaced at that time. I was relieved that they were not trying to sell me something that I didn't need. I have also ordered some slip on mufflers and a re-jet kit for the carb that I had them install for me. all parts were received and installed in a timely manner without breaking the bank. I will continue to buy my parts and have my bike serviced at Santa Maria Harley Davidson.. thank you all for your excellent service

We are familiar with Santa Maria Harley as it is typically one of our stops when we are down from Sonora because of their large selection of accessories and clothing (our local shop is somewhat limited). This was my first experience with their service department. On the way down over the Easter Holiday I noticed that in 5th and 6th gear when shifting quickly (2 up and loaded for a holiday weekend) that my clutch was starting to slip. Saturday morning about 10:00 I called to see if there was a chance I could get it looked at and fully expecting a no or a drop it off and well see if we can get to it. Instead I was informed that they were down one mechanic BUT if I got in there within an hour they would fit me in between 2 scheduled jobs. I made it within the hour. After letting my bike cool down for a little while they took in back in and shortly after that I was handed a bill with an explanation of what was done. I was pleasantly surprised how fast and thorough they were and to see that I was only charged for 15 minutes and one gasket! Thanks guys for stepping up and helping me out on a holiday weekend!

J.C. at the dealership was very helpful with my problem and solved the problem for me. He was very helpful, a really nice person to work with. I posted an ad on Craigslist looking for a DRZ 400SM. I was looking all over CA for one in my price range and I get a call from a Harley Dealer. They had the kind of bike I wanted, in my color and they were willing to cut me a deal. I was expecting some kind of game or hard sales pitch, but they were phenomenal! They took amazing care of me and answered every question I had. When they ran into a problem with expired tags on the bike they just dealt with it, I wouldn't even have known except for the FULL disclosure they gave me. Overall, I spent several thousand dollars and I would do it again gladly if the experience went half as well as it did this time

We live in Mexico City and are members of the Santa Fe Chapter (Mexico DF). With our FLHTCU 2008 we are on a 4 weeks trip and in Santa Monica our bike started with problems. The yellow engine light got on. Sometimes the speedo went to zero, some hardware of the right saddlebag got lost, the RoadTech Zumo 665 got not charged anymore, the brake lever hittex the exhaust (noisy) - unbelivable but all happened within 2 days. We found in the web page of Santa Maria Harley Davidson several very positive comments plus the info that the Holiday Inn Hotel is just 300 meters away from the Harley Shop. So we came to Santa Maria 260 Km north of Santa Monica. The attention and professionalism of the entire team in Santa Maria Harley-Davidson is on absolutely top level. Especially Rick and Dennis gave the attention to our bike and indeed it was not easy to repair all the points. We said that the yellow light and the GPS Trouble are the only important points and perhaps the lock for the saddle bag. But with a smile they fixed all and everything and within a short time. In one day all got perfecly finished. Solving all the problems is one very positive point but on top one can enjoy a such friendly attention you feel unbelievable well, when one arrives very stressed with a sick bike. Rick and Dennis are the best I have seen in so many years of driving. And I drive bikes since 1968 (who remebers Horex Regina?). To cut a long story short: Whenever you need a professional solution combined with a very personal and friendly attention, go to Santa Maria Harley-Davidson and ask for Rick and Dennis! Dear Santa Maria Harley-Davidson, On July 16, 2011 my husband and I were visiting Santa Maria for a wedding of the Ostini/Gorman families. We stayed in the Santa Maria Holiday Inn. We were so excited to look out our window and see a Harley Davidson store right behind us. Since our grown kids have Harleys and love for us to bring them back 'toys' from every Harley store we visit...of course we had to visit your place. We did purchase a couple of items....keeping them to shirts/hats due to the fact we had to fly back to Denver...but the nice surprise was your sales associate, Desiree Kozlowski! It was so fun to visit with her as she was such a happy and fun and alive person. We felt very well taken care of and left very happy thanks to her! She went out of her way to make us feel welcome. I did have to go back in to tell her something and we shared pictures of her Daughter and our Granddaughter. I had been admiring her jewelry as is was so sparkly and to my wonderful surprise she took off her bracelet (her Green Bay Packers one) that she had made and gave it to me. She said she wanted me to have it! I was so surprised and pleased and I just wanted you to know what a generous and sweet employee you have. I wore it to the wedding that night! We're not sure when we'll be back to Santa Maria but given the fact we have family there, I'm sure we'll make it back and we'll be sure to stop in. We just wanted you to know how special Desiree is. I would like to thank all the staff in the Santa Maria Harley-Davidson Service Department. They were courteous, professional and as you will see below, went well out of their way to make my most recent service appointment both a pleasant and satisfying experience. I would especially like to thank Mandy, Rick, and of course the man who turns the wrenches, Dennis for taking such good care of my needs. I had come in for a routine tire change, both front and rear. It was another gorgeous riding day here on the Central Coast and I was anxious to get the new tires installed and be on my way. Now the rest of the story. First, despite the fact that one of the Mechanics was on vacation, Mandy and Rick were able to work me into the compressed schedule on a Saturday. Did I mention there were out-of-town rider emergencies. Because of the fine riding weather, there were fellow riders traveling through our area who had flats, and some minor mechanical issues, who were also being taken care of in a courteous and friendly atmosphere. However, I digress; back to point of my communication. Next, during the process of getting my tires changed out, it was discovered that the rear tire that I had purchased on sale a few weeks earlier, was the incorrect tire. It was a subtle variation in application and fitment, the detail of which I had missed but was duly noted by the service staff, which averted a potentially serious safety issue. To add to the complexity of what began as a seemingly routine service, one of the tubes required because I run traditional spoked wheels on my old-school Springer, was out of stock. Because of the delays, I was approached by the Service Advisors and was briefed about the two problems. At this point, I was offered a rental at no expense, so that I could continue my planned day-ride, home delivery of my bike after service was completed, and a ride to get some lunch or have something brought back to me. To quote the Russian-born, American comedian Yakov Smirnoff, What a country. Since I live locally, I politely declined the generous offers, but I did have Rick drop me off at home for lunch while he chased parts. He picked me up on the way back to the Dealership thereby obviating the need to deliver my bike to the house later. Talk about Customer Service, and going the extra mile, these guys and gals rock. During my visit, I had a chance to speak to Tony, one of the great Parts Department staff as well as J.C. who has been a part of the sales staff since I bought my 100th Anniversary Springer in 2003. Despite the busy Saturday, they found the time to greet me and answer all my questions about the latest technology and parts applications while I was waiting. Later, problems resolved, tire installation and road test complete, I was back on my motorcycle and on the road feeling safe and secure with my new tires and a fresh safety inspection; not to mention feeling very fortunate about being a Santa Maria Harley-Davidson customer. I have been to many other Harley shops for Service and Parts in my many years of riding, but I must say that the Staff, and of course the General Manager, Martin, at my Home Dealership, Santa Maria Harley-Davidson, reflect great credit upon themselves and further maintain and embody the Harley-Davidson family spirit and tradition.

I often visit your store. Your people are very nice and knowledgable. Great having you in our neighborhood - just up the road for me. I only gave you a 4 because after a service, my bike had some loose stuff after a service and dirt & oil that wasnt cleaned off. other than the one incident I would give service another shot. It would be nice also to see your general service pricing for oil changes, tun-ups, etc. on your web site.

I found my Road Glide at the best price at Santa Maria Harley. I applied for financing, got the terms I wanted and added custom parts to my bike the same day. Since then, my friends have purchased a Softail, an Electra Glide and a Fat Boy too. I would recommend this dealership to anyone; it was worth the drive from Los Angeles!

September 4, 2007 *** Santa Maria Harley - I sent this letter to H-D and thought you might also like to see it - *** Mr. James L. Ziemer Chief Executive Officer, Harley-Davidson, Inc. 3700 W. Juneau Avenue Milwaukee, WI 53208 *** *** Dear Sir, *** Subject: Character Defined *** It is Labor Day weekend, and my misfortune to find myself stranded hundreds of miles away from home with a crippled Hot Rod Bagger. Here I am, riding solo in the coastal town of Santa Maria, California, and daylight is beginning to fade. The suspicion I have, of having developed a major exhaust leak, is confirmed as I stop for fuel and give my 97 ElectraGlide a thorough inspection. There, protruding from the rear cylinder head, is a barren exhaust stud. No nut, simply gone. Thankfully, the town of Santa Maria is known to me. It is early Saturday evening, 6:15 pm, and I am making a run to the Santa Maria Harley-Davidson dealership. Sad to say, regular business hours have past and I appear to be S.O.L. (Sorely Out of Luck, or something like that.) The parking lot is empty, except for the presence of one rather pristine looking RoadGlide that is parked in the rear. So here I sit, next to the immaculate RoadGlide, patiently waiting for what I hope will be an employee emerging from within the dealership. And as luck would have it, I didnt have to wait long. The owner emerges before I can finish my fine American cigarette. Given the situation, one can easily imagine the conversation that ensues as I introduce myself to the man. He listens patiently to my plight; then, introduces himself as Michael. As for his response to my predicament, it may as well have been scripted from a Harley-Davidson service commercial. Twice Michael enters and returns from the secured Harley-Davidson dealership to wrench on my bike as the sun gives-way to the evening sky. And as if all this isnt enough, he ends our encounter by offering to intercede on my behalf at the local hotel as I am trying to secure a room for the night. (It is Labor Day Weekend, and nearly all of the hotels are booked-up.) With a room secured and my Baggers thunderous exhaust fully repaired, we say our goodbyes, each agreeing, Its Miller Time. It is only then, during my sincere offering of Thanks (and only after requesting a business card) that I learn I am dealing with the dealerships General Manager, Michael Manthey. Character described: Doing the right thing when nobody is watching. And that, my good friend, is how people like Mike and I Roll. With respect to character, Michael Manthey: Walks the Walk.
